What makes a good leader?

I have the extreme good fortune to be launching not one, but TWO leadership development programs next week. Two excellent organizations that I have been working with for the better part of a year - understanding their cultures and unique ecosystems, designing experiences that will create the conditions for a step function advancement in the confidence, skills and impact that their leaders can make. I am genuinely honored and humbled to be entrusted with these opportunities.

In both kick-off sessions…I’ll be asking the question: “What specific aspects of your leadership do you want to strengthen?

My challenge will be to go deep, identifying and practicing a set of skills that can be implemented under pressure in their unique context. Many of us can be good leaders when things are working well - market conditions, talented and driven team, great boss etc. But how do I show up as a leader when I am questioning my value? When I feel like an imposter? When there are real impediments to success hitting me every day? When I have more work than my team can handle?

I am really (really) looking forward to getting into it with these fine leaders. Understanding challenges, developing skills and co-creating solutions.

I will keep you posted!
