Great idea boss!

Good leaders often tell me that they are ‘just one of the team’ and are proud of the fact that they don’t rely on positional power. These are good things of course. But - really effective leaders need to understand that people are human, and want to secure their position and feed their family - first and foremost. So the feedback and input they receive needs to be considered with that in mind. Leaders need to constantly work at creating an environment that encourages discourse, creativity and the views and opinions of everyone.

AND they need to re-read ‘The Emperor has no Clothes’.
